Small Miracle

This weekend we put Julis fine motor skills to the test. Renata, her 3 year old next door neighbor (and overall hero), got a set of beads for necklaces and we were invited to play with them.  This of course is a really tough taks (given the size of the beads...soooo tiny!) so I assumed she would become uninterested quickly and eventually start playing something else.  Julis certainly proved me wrong.  Yeah it was tough, but she stuck to it and perservered through several beads, not enough to finish the piece, but certainly enough to make her momma burst with pride.
Ahh the little things...

Here are some pics documenting the small miracle and some other weekend activities.

The look of complete focus

Her hero turns out to be a terrific role model (whew!)

If you look real close you can see the tiny yellow bead between her fingers ;)
I was floored when she put the first one in.  She was even happier...she would get up from her chair and do a little celebration dance every time she would put one in. I wish I had had a video camera. It was hilarious!

Potty Trainning

Julis is in full potty training mode and day time accidents are few (wohoooo). Here is a picture of her on the potty on a day she chose what to wear.

Gotta love the winter hat, pjs and rain boots combo.
Somehow kids can recognize and have fun with the absurd at a very early age.

We also went to the first party of the year, which Julis was very eager to attend.
I have never seen a kid enjoy jumping so much.  I am kind of wishing she could base a profession on that... perhaps she could join a circus in Canada :)

Even Dad gets into the fun every now and then

There was aso some "art" this weekend as she painted an alligator puppet. It took her about 30 minutes but she would not leave until every inch of the alligator had some form of coloring on it.

Xmas in Panama

Well finally a long overdue Xmas post.  It was a wonderful Xmas filled with joy and family. Julis had a great time, loved every minute of it and everyday still plays some form of a game that would allow her to go back, even if it is only  in her imagination. So she will get in the car and drive to panama, jump a the plays platform and sail to Panama, ask to be driven to the airport so thaty we can go to Panama, and so on...
